Geographe uses, amongst other calibrated measuring equipment, a 2.4m 7-Axis Platnium FaroArm Portable Coordinate Measuring Machine (PCMM). The FaroArm is used for inspecting parts after completion of manufacture and secondly obtaining geometry from complex or unusual shaped components. This unit provides accurate measurements of any geometric shape.
The FaroArm is extremely useful for the inspection of all machined or fabricated components with multiple dimensions and geometric tolerances. Dimensional Inspection Reports can be automatically generated for Geographe’s own internal quality assurance purposes or can be issues externally as a record of the sizes achieved. The FaroArm can also be used for reverse engineering purposes by creating data planes and points that can be imported into 3D CAD Software to produce manufacturing drawings.
