Innovation at Geographe is not just about technology; we consistently aim to employ, train and retain the services of dedicated and ambitious tradespeople. The company is actively addressing Australia’s skills shortage through an apprenticeship and trainee scheme in fields such as moulding, fitting and welding. This way, Geographe is strategically planned to train tomorrow’s engineers, ensuring it remains at the leading edge of industrial manufacturing technologies to deliver the best designed and engineered parts today and into the future.
Geographe has a very strong apprentice program both at their Kewdale and Bunbury sites. Past apprentices have won Top Apprentice of the Year Awards, a testimony to the high level of training provided.
Geographe apprentices are inducted into a comprehensive and rigorous training program in conjunction with the various Western Australian TAFE institutions and providers such as CCIWA. The program operates over three and a half years and is structured around nationally recognised training qualifications. Acceptance into the program is highly regarded and places limited therefore intake periods are restricted. Applicants are encouraged to investigate and be certain of their chosen trade stream, then submit their details by September for commencement the following year.

The skills you gain can be used on your resume and in some cases Geographe have offered employment to work experience students.
