Geographe can provide high-quality treatments for external surfaces of manufactured parts and components. This gives them additional characteristics that will extend their operational lifespan in harsh operating environments, thus minimising expensive downtime. We specialise in performing precision Chrome Plating, Phosphate Coating and Two Pack spray painting as well as standard industrial finishes.
Geographe uses hard chromium surface treatments for the provision of durable, abrasion resistant wearing surfaces and for the building up of undersized and worn parts. The value of chromium for such purposes lies in its hardness, resistance to abrasion, passivity of surface, and it’s ‘anti-seize’ properties when applied to rotating or reciprocating parts.
Phosphate coating is the process of converting the surface of metal substrates into new surfaces having non-metallic and non-conductive properties. Geographe uses these coatings in manufacturing to:
- Provide a key for painting and protect against under paint corrosion.
- Prepare for bonding of plastic coatings.
- Provide a key for drawing compounds and lubricants prior to cold extrusion or lubricated running in.
- Improve corrosion resistance by providing a good base for waxes and rust preventive oils.
At Geographe we offer a range industrial painting services including Two Pack Polyurethane and Epoxy coatings performed at our Kewdale facility by an expert team with more than 20 years experience in the application of this finish. Two Pack is a hard, chemical and corrosive resistant paint, designed to extend the lifetime of industrial machinery. Some of our areas of expertise in Two Pack painting are: the treatment of fixed plant; and equipment used in the offshore oil and gas industry.
