It is unusual that a single organisation can perform such a wide spectrum of specialised manufacturing activities under the one roof. However, Geographe’s uniqueness is because it has the equipment and machining capabilities to perform all these processes, evident through its enormous product suite of more than 25,000 parts. Also, the manufacturing shop runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in order to meet the demands of today's tight delivery requirements.
Geographe can offer quality products at lower prices because:
- Geographe has vertically integrated its manufacturing capabilities (i.e. it can perform numerous production activities in-house) therefore it is not required to outsource any activity and pay margins to external businesses
- By performing all activities in-house, Geographe has a time advantage in terms of reduced lead-time and a logistics advantage in terms of reduced transport and handling costs.
This means that Geographe’s production costs are simply lower which allows us to reduce the cost back to customers. |
