Custom Design Gear Manufacturing Services
For custom design gears Geographe offers a full suite of services including drafting and design, metallurgical analysis, casting, heat treatment and tooth profiling, hobbing, shaping and broaching.  Geographe Enterprises employs the latest technologies and the best engineers and tradespeople and is one of very few gear manufacturers in the country to own a Hofler gear grinder, for state of the art gear grinding, that performs to DIN (din) 1 quality, the most accurate level.

Assessment and Overhaul
Geographe has an extensive gearbox overhaul facility catering to a wide range of scope requirements and design variations.  It can offer the following elements of gearbox overhaul and repair:

• Accurate upfront quoting before commencement of work providing an accurate assessment of cost and lead time
• Thorough strip and assessment with a full detailed report
• Gearbox failure analysis
• Manufacture and supply of replacement gears, shafts, housings, covers and couplings
• Repair of existing case bores and faces or design and production of replacement casings where required.
• Design and manufacture of mounting frames and transport frames
• Re-assembly including couplings, frames, electric motor, backstops and guards as required
• Formatted operational testing with traceable report
• Laser alignment of couplings and electric motors on frames
• Full painting including two pack paint if needed
• Final completion reports detailed with photos and work conducted, constructed to customer requirements

Geographe also has the full capability to design reliability improvements and engineer out product issues including excessive noise, vibration, premature catastrophic failures and general reliability.

Geographe is especially experienced in the service, repairs and overhaul of Planetary, Flender, , David Brown and Hansen gearboxes.  Geographe’s is also experienced in repairs and overhauls of many other well known gearbox brands including Krupp, Zollern, Sew, Falk, Bonfiglioli and Briquette.  All repair and refurbishment programmes are project managed by gear specialists.
